Currently Tamabilt is headquartered in Iowa City, Iowa.
In truth, Tamabilt Software Solutions is at heart an internet company. Through the web we maintain a worldwide presence, and
accept clients in all corners of the world.
Our lead psychometrician is Rob McKinley, one of the nation’s leading experts in the fields of psychometrics and computer-based testing. He was a senior
statistician and advisor at ETS, where he designed and developed the IRT-based pool development and item calibration systems
employed for the GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL testing programs. While director of computer-based testing at ACT, he developed
the patented scripted testing algorithm for the GMAT that is used today. Rob was also one of the major figures behind the
LSAT; he directed research for the Law School Admissions Services and coordinated all LSAT statistical analysis. LSAS still
uses the item bank management system he designed and developed for them. Most recently, Rob has been heavily engaged in assisting
Knewton, Inc. to put together an adaptive testing system, complete with newly invented item selection and scoring algorithms,
to go along with their incredibly innovative new adaptive learning platform.
Additional psychometric expertise is provided by the Test and Measurement Associates (TAMA), a loosely-knit association
of independent psychometricians and researchers.
